The Summer Ango training period runs from June 17 to July 27; practice atonement with Fusatsu, June 21, 7:30 pm; the Gay Men's Meditation Group will hold a one day Zazenkai on Sunday, June 23; sign up for a Saturday morning meditation class; to register for programs or for more information about other events, contact us.

Zen Letters: the Teachings of Yuanwu – Some know the Chinese master Yuanwu (Jap: Engo) as the compiler of the Blue Cliff Record koan collection. Here are his personal teachings expressed in correspondence with students and other teachers, but you can read them as letters sent directly to you. Clarifying and encouraging, a must-read.

Anyone can join us for meditation, services or dharma talks. There’s no charge to attend, you don’t need a reservation, and you don’t have to be a member to participate. Just show up! We’ll be happy to see you.

Please note our extended sitting meditation hours during Summer Ango, June 17 to July 27.

Dawn Zazen – Three half-hour meditation periods followed by service. Monday through Friday starting at 6am.

Morning Zazen – Three half-hour meditation periods followed by service. Monday through Friday starting at 11am.

Afternoon Zazen – Three half-hour meditation periods followed by service. Monday through Friday starting at 3:30pm.

Evening Zazen - Three half-hour meditation periods. Monday through Friday starting at 7pm.

Dharma Talks – Thursday evenings at 7pm.

Saturday Morning Program -- Service and Zazen starting at 9am, followed by a Dharma Talk at 11am.

Classes
 

Our Zen Meditation Instruction (ZMI) class is held most Saturdays at 9 am and introduces beginners to meditation and the form of practice at the Hazy Moon.

For those who are already familiar with sitting meditation, our Zen and Practice (ZAP) class meets once a month on a Saturday and comprises further meditation instruction and a primer on sesshins, ceremonies and sangha life at the Hazy Moon. Visit our
