Zazen has changed my life. Since I began practicing at the Hazy Moon about nine years ago, I've experienced some remarkable (and sometimes difficult) transformations. But the thing that has become most apparent to me amid all the joy and tumult is that the spiritual practice handed down to us by our teachers--and their teachers--is the most important undertaking anyone can pursue.
Yet how I resist it! I'm constantly dreaming up excuses and pulling the wool over my own eyes.
So I'm thrilled to have a chance to hunker down for three months of intensive practice and close work with my teacher. I have no idea how things will turn out, but that's probably the best way to start such an adventure.
